Day 11

I am on lookout duty way up in the crow’s nest. This is boring. Boring, boring. Nothing but water to the left, right, front and back.
Boring!

I would rather be hiding R.O.’s stuff

Day 12

I accidentally tipped over a barrel of water onto Howzer’s head today.

He thought it was on purpose. I wish it was. It was funny anyway.

Day 13

Today I found pickles in my shoes. I wonder who could have done that? I think it was Howzer. He is trying to get me back for dumping the water on his head yesterday.

Day 14

I tied Howzer's shoestrings to the flag today. I can't wait until he notices.
The practical joke war has begun!

Day 16

I had to tell Howzer about his shoes. I had no idea he didn't wear his shoes that much.

Day 17

Today we stopped at the island of Golson, there were a whole bunch of kids wearing brightly colored clothes. They tried to buy everything we had.  I tried to sell them R.O. but he caught on to my plan.

Day 18

It rained today. So we were stuck inside all day. We passed the time by listening to one of Laguna Luna’s stories.

Day 19

Today R.O. got his peg leg stuck in a hole in the deck. He walked around in circles for hours while Howzer, Bones and I shot spitballs at him from the crow’s nest.

Day 20

Captain must have been hitting the diet cokes pretty hard. He was in a good mood today. He didn’t even make Howzer walk the plank. Wow!

Day 21

We stopped at a small island to ask for directions. Captain didn’t want to but Whiskey Barrel Cheryl made him.

Day 22

We learned how to sew today. Every pirate needs to know how to sew. For fixing the sails, patching holes in clothes, and making sock puppets.

I made two sock puppets. One was named Lefty and the other was named Stinky. I made them out of R.O.’s socks.

Ha! Ha!

Day 23

Today Captain wanted to move the rowboats from one side of the boat to the other. So Bones and I became captains of our own vessels. The oars were missing, so we had to pull the boats around using ropes. It only took me a few minutes. Bones was out there for over 3 hours.

Day 24

We had our lunch outside today. The seagulls were flying all around the boat. Bones had to keep fighting them in order to eat his food. In fact there were so many seagulls, that wanted his lunch, they carried Bones away. We haven't seen him in a while.

Day 25

Bones is now safely back aboard the Sea Dragon.  The seagulls brought him back.  I guess he didn't taste too good.

Day 26

We had to swab the deck for two extra hours today, because Captain found pickles in his shoes.

I thought they were Howzer’s shoes. Oops.

Day 27

The wind quit blowing today. The boat has been sitting very still. Chumbucket likes it like this. Also because the wind isn't blowing it feels like it is one thousand degrees out here.  R.O. must still be cold because he is wearing long sleeves.

Day 28

The wind came back today and it has cooled off a lot.  R.O. is dressed like an eskimo.

Day 29

We had to clean the cannons today. Most of the crew has soot all over them.

Day 30

You can tell who didn’t take a bath. They still have soot all over them.
Which was pretty much most of the crew.

Day 31

Today we ran across an island off the coast of Oklahoma.  There we found a new crew member named Stash.  It is going to be a lot of fun teaching Stash the ropes.  Maybe I can get him to do my work too.

Day 33

This morning Bones woke up with no eyebrows. He thought it was a rare disease. Howzer and I know differently because we shaved his eyebrows off.

Ha! Ha!

Day 34

We have been sailing north for quite a while now. It has gotten real cold. We sailed through an erie lake then we saw what Captain thought were mermaids. It turned out to be some real tall native girls. They were all waving cheese at us. I thought that was a little wierd word strange. One of girls had a little black dog with a pegleg. So Captain made her part of the crew. She stays up real late and is grumpy in the morning. So Captain named her Midnight Amanda.

Day 35

I was the on lookout duty in the crows nest, so I was the first to spot the island.  Treasure here we come!

Day 36

We ran aground on a sand bar before we reached the island.
The lookout should have been watching where we were going. Oops.

Day 37

We tried all day to get the boat off out of the shallow water. We couldn’t.

Day 38

Last night about 3:00 in the morning we tried to move the boat again. It was high tide and we finally got off the sand bar.

Tomorrow morning we are going to take the rowboats ashore and find the treasure.

Day 39

Today we took the rowboats ashore.  We had to travel through a muddy swamp.  We started hearing a lot of noise.  We came around a bend and saw a girl holding onto a vine over a bunch of gators.  She had a tomahawk that she was waving at them to keep them away.  We rowed over and let her get into the rowboat.  She went looking for treasure with us.  Captain has commented how good the weather has been since she came aboard.  So he has named her Fair Weather Heather.

Day 40

No treasure. Wrong island.

Captain is not happy.
